General Manager - Xacti - Helsinki

Job description
We are seeking a General Manager to oversee operations in our Finland location. The General Manager reports directly to our CEO and EVP. This individual must be able to work in a complex environment while obtaining subsidiary profit contribution by managing staff, establishing and accomplishing business objectives.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• The General Manager will be instrumental in building our Finland office from the ground up. Responsibilities may include establishing a relationship with analysis of a variety of investment opportunities, oversight of local corporate counsel, recruitment of staff, while motivating all staff to success in the company's goals as befits a start-up of a globally successful and profitable company.

• Initially evaluate a variety of potential investment opportunities regionally on behalf of the CEO and provide research and commentary on the potential areas of investment

• Increase management's effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining technical staff and managers; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results

• Oversee the financial status of the subsidiary including developing long and short range financial plans, monitoring the budget and ensuring sound financial controls are in place; set financial priorities accurately to ensure the subsidiary is operating in a manner that supports the needs of the program and staff

• Review performance data (financial, sales, activity reports etc) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels

• Provide leadership and vision by assisting CEO, EVP and staff with the development of long range and annual plans, and with the evaluation and reporting of progress on plans, and making mid-course corrections

• Develop strategic planning by studying technological and financial opportunities; presenting assumptions; recommending objectives

• Liaise with management of other subsidiaries to establish and accomplish mutual goals

• Work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment

• Manage complex contract negotiations and work with legal counsel as required

• Give direction to and work closely with vendors, outside contractors, firms and individuals that provide services to the company
Desired Skills and Experience
The following needs, essential at this stage of the company's development, establish the necessary professional background and experience parameters for the successful candidate:



• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited institution

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in business management, strategic planning and financial oversight in a technology, e-commerce, financial services company

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in management, including hiring, supervision, evaluation and benefits administration

• Excellent verbal and written English language skills

• Ability to communicate with both business and technical people

• Knowledge of financial services industry is required

• Knowledge of the lending business a plus

• Knowledge of a broad range of ventures - preferably due to experience in corporate development and M&A and private equity investments

• International experience is a plus

• Ability to develop standards

• Highly organized, motivated, self-starter, accurate with a good sense of urgency

• Express a positive and professional attitude and open to adaptive and rapid change

• Excellent follow-up and problem solving skills

• Exceptional attention to detail, time management and organization

• Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situations
